BACHELOR’S OR MASTER’S DEGREE IN SOCIAL WORK, ACTIVE SOCIAL WORKER LICENSE AND MINIMUM 1+ YEARS SCHOOL SOCIAL WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. APPLICANTS WHO DO NOT MEET THESE QUALIFICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

Seeking a dedicated Social Worker to support students in a K-12 school setting in Detroit, MI. This contract position runs for the duration of the school year (NSY) and offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct counseling and support services to K-12 students facing social, emotional, and behavioral challenges
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop individualized plans addressing student needs
  • Conduct assessments and refer students and families to community resources as appropriate
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to support student success and well-being
  • Maintain detailed case notes and comply with confidentiality policies and school regulations

Desired Qualifications:

  • Degree in Social Work (BSW or MSW) with valid licensure or certification to practice in school settings
  • Experience working with children and adolescents in educational environments
  • Strong understanding of K-12 student issues including mental health, family dynamics, and crisis intervention
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage students, parents, and school staff
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and work independently as well as part of a team
