BACHELOR’S OR MASTER’S DEGREE IN SOCIAL WORK, ACTIVE SOCIAL WORKER LICENSE AND MINIMUM 1+ YEARS SCHOOL SOCIAL WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. APPLICANTS WHO DO NOT MEET THESE QUALIFICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

A school-based Social Worker position is available to provide essential support to students at the elementary level in Evanston, IL. This contract role offers the chance to address social, emotional, and behavioral challenges to help students thrive academically and personally throughout the school year (CSY).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments to identify students social and emotional needs
  • Develop and implement individualized intervention plans
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to support student well-being
  • Provide counseling and crisis intervention as needed
  • Facilitate group sessions to develop social skills and coping strategies
  • Connect families with community resources and support services
  • Maintain detailed records and documentation in compliance with school policies

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program
  • Valid state licensure or certification as a Social Worker
  • Experience working with elementary school-aged children in educational settings
  • Strong understanding of child development and mental health issues
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
