The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health Ltd was established by its founding members to provide a coordinated/integrated approach to the planning, development and delivery of comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations within the Southeast Qld Region. The Organisational Development Team’s primary focus is to assist IUIH meet its strategic objective of growing and developing a competent and enabled health workforce. IUIH continues to experience significant workforce growth, necessitating a focus on development, management and implementation of frameworks and programs to: increase Indigenous workforce participation, build required workforce skill sets, train existing staff to maximise opportunities for business development and quality of care, build workforce pathways, and to create and nurture an innovative, inclusive, reflective and respectful environment built on Aboriginal Ways About the Role? The School-based Traineeship Team Leader is responsible for leading and developing school-based trainees across South-East Queensland. This role is accountable for trainee performance, engagement, wellbeing, and supporting traineeship progression through structured mentoring and coordination. The Team Leader plays a pivotal role in building a culturally responsive and capable Indigenous health workforce by guiding trainees towards meaningful employment and further education pathways. Your day to day duties may include: Lead a team of up to 30 school based trainees, ensuring trainees are oriented, trained and supported to complete their traineeship and transition into ongoing employment and/or study. Provide mentoring, support and workplace supervision as required, to ensure a safe and deadly learning environment that promotes growth, accountability, work readiness and propa socialisation of trainees. Coordinate logistics (including timetabling and transport) to ensure consistent engagement and attendance. Collaborate with Program manager, internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure program delivery meets strategic goals. Maintain regular communication with the Careers Our Way team to ensure smooth transition into ongoing employment and/or study. Provide ongoing administrative management and coordination of relevant workforce development programs. Provide reports to School Based traineeship Manager, POWA manager and Organisation Development manager as required. About You? Current C Class Drivers Licence (QLD) Current Criminal History Check Current Working with Children’s Check (QLD Blue Card) Qualification in Youth Support or Community Services or Case Management Ability to travel across South East Queensland as required Desirable, but not mandatory: Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and /or communities What Can we Offer?
