The successful trustee will be expected to attend four (4) quarterly Board of Trustees meetings annually (approximately two hours each), participate in the annual KHDA/DSIB governance meeting during school inspections (approximately one hour), review pre-read materials in advance of meetings, maintain confidentiality, and contribute constructively to the strategic development and continuous improvement of Ignite School. Requirements Successful experience as a Principal, Head of School, or equivalent senior leader in an American curriculum school. Strong understanding of curriculum, assessment, school improvement, and educational governance. Ability to provide independent strategic advice and constructive challenge to school leadership. Commitment to attend four (4) Board of Trustees meetings annually and participate in the annual KHDA/DSIB governance meeting. Commitment to confidentiality and acting in the best interests of the school. Desirable: Experience within UAE schools. Previous board or governance experience. An annual honorarium of 10,000 AED may be provided in recognition of the trustee's contribution to school governance and educational oversight. The appointment is non-executive in nature and does not constitute employment. Reasonable expenses incurred in connection with Board duties may be reimbursed with prior approval.
