As a School Bus Driver, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that students arrive at school and return home safely each day. Responsibilities Safely operate a school bus on designated routes while adhering to traffic laws and regulations. Ensure that students board and exit the bus safely, helping younger students as needed. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the bus is in proper working condition. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff to address any concerns or issues that may arise. Maintain a clean and organized bus interior, ensuring the environment is conducive for students. Monitor student behavior and enforce safety rules during transport to maintain a safe atmosphere on the bus. Complete and submit required documentation including route logs, incident reports, and maintenance records. Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for operating a school bus. Clean driving record with no major violations in the past 3 to 5 years. Ability to pass a background check and drug screening. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with students, parents, and school administrators. Ability to remain calm and composed in emergency situations. Flexibility to work early morning and afternoon hours, as well as occasional weekends or special trips. Prior experience driving a school bus or working with children is preferred but not mandatory.
