Job Purpose
Lead and manage the daily operations of one or more school bus facilities, ensuring contract fulfillment, safety, customer satisfaction, and cost control. Serve as the location’s safety leader, fostering a strong safety culture and delivering measurable results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive performance using Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Oversee daily operations including staffing, scheduling, and service delivery
  • Ensure safe and timely student transportation, including placard and student management
  • Maintain driver coverage and manage absenteeism
  • Serve as primary liaison with contracted school districts
  • Attend school board meetings as needed
  • Monitor contract compliance and administration
  • Manage location profit and loss, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Approve invoices, labor costs, fuel, maintenance, and capital purchases
  • Oversee time tracking, route labor standards, and overtime management
  • Support HR functions including investigations and labor relations
  • Ensure compliance with DOT, federal, and state safety regulations
  • Monitor vehicle inspections, certifications, and spare utilization
  • Manage ancillary equipment (GPS, cameras, radios, etc.)
  • Maintain facility standards per OSHA and ADA requirements
  • Submit timely reports to corporate departments

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • College degree (preferred)

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Minimum 3 years in transportation industry
  • Managerial experience preferred
  • CDL required
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work early morning hours
  • Professional demeanor and appearance
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and internet-based tools
  • Familiarity with office equipment and electronic systems
