THE OPPORTUNITY

Etymon is seeking a School Catering Assistant for a casual position to support the food service operations at Reddam House School. This seasonal role aligns with the academic calendar and involves approximately 40 working weeks per year, with breaks during school holidays.
Reporting to the Junior Catering Manager, the Catering Assistant will help ensure the smooth delivery of catering services, focusing on food preparation, service, and maintaining high hygiene standards. The role is customer-facing and integral in upholding the excellent service standards of Etymon within the school community.

REQUIREMENTS

• Valid RSA and Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain)
• Barista Experience preferred
• Passion for food and customer service
• High attention to hygiene and food safety standards
• Positive, team-oriented attitude
• Experience in a food service or school catering environment (desirable but not essential)

• Support the preparation and serving of meals in the school canteen during break times
• Assist with packaging and organizing online food orders
• Maintain cleanliness and food safety across kitchen and service areas
• Follow guidelines on portion control, presentation, and food quality
• Assist with inventory rotation and stock control under supervision
• Ensure all meals meet health, dietary, and nutritional standards
• Uphold Etymon’s service values in every interaction with students and staff
• Provide friendly and efficient customer service during busy periods
• Work collaboratively with other team members to deliver smooth daily operations
