Responsibilities

Role Overview

  • To provide an educational program that best meets the instructional needs of students within the policies of Washington County Public Schools. Administer and supervise all school operations. Provide educational leadership to staff and students. Support and provide a safe and secure learning environment

Role Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee staffing models, ensuring recruitment of qualified educators, therapists, and medical personnel.
  • Manage operational planning, including facility readiness and program logistics.
  • Build partnerships with universities, medical providers, and community organizations to implement and sustain evidence-based practices.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the therapeutic lab school, WCPS leadership, and external stakeholders.
  • Create multidisciplinary teams, including educators, therapists, social workers, and medical professionals, to ensure coordinated care for each student.
  • Effectively communicate with students, teachers, parents/guardians, and members of the school community.
  • Identify behavioral, social, and emotional educational needs of students referred using appropriate assessment measures.
  • Establish, maintain, and oversee data measurement and collection systems for students receiving behavior or academic interventions and monitor fidelity of implementation.
  • Coordinate and conduct staff development activities and in-service workshops for school personnel and community partners, including the provision of ongoing job-embedded training.
  • Oversee all aspects of a school culture to promote student achievement and an effective professional learning community.
  • Oversee the supervision and evaluation of staff effectiveness for high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Provide leadership and support to school staff through regular classroom visits, conferences, and meetings.
  • Hire and support effective teacher personnel.
  • Ensure the success of every student by acting in an ethical manner with integrity and fairness.
  • Provide staff with focused, sustained, and research-based professional development.
  • Attend and contribute to professional meetings.
  • Utilize a variety of data in the development of the school improvement plan.
  • Assume specific responsibilities as assigned by senior leadership.
  • Participate in interagency activities that support program implementation.
  • Attend training and professional learning related to grant implementation, including required reporting
