WHO WE ARE
At Christian Brothers’ High School Lewisham we understand boys’ unique learning styles and support each student on their own journey. As a non-selective school, we are committed to providing quality education to every student throughout their time at the school.
Catering to 1,300 boys from Year 5 to Year 12, our school provides an inclusive education that combines academic pursuits, spirituality and social justice. We aim to develop young men of integrity and compassion who will become valued members of the community. We teach in the tradition of the Blessed Edmund Rice and are committed to the four touchstones of an Edmund Rice education:
CHILD SAFEGUARDING
We are committed to ensuring that our recruitment practices create a safe and supportive environment for all students. In addition to our general Recruitment and Selection Procedures, we have established Child Safeguarding policies and procedures for recruiting Staff including volunteers and contractors and for assessing their suitability to work with children. We recognise that children and young people are to be valued and respected and we expect all workers to demonstrate an ongoing and proactive commitment to the safety and wellbeing of all persons with a specific focus on the safeguarding of children.
It is the expectation that the successful applicant has an understanding of children and young people’s diverse needs and unique experience and that all interactions with children and young people foster and demonstrate a commitment to a child safe culture. The successful applicant is required to retain a valid Working with Children Check, and adopt and comply with Child Safeguarding responsibilities, Child Protection policies and procedures and Code of Conduct.
We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced School Counsellor to join our Pastoral care team for the 2025 school year. In this role, you will work closely with students to ensure their emotional, social and wellbeing needs are being met. You will provide support to teaching staff as well as families on how to best support these students.
