MASTER’S DEGREE IN SCHOOL COUNSELING, COUNSELING OR A RELATED FIELD, ACTIVE SCHOOL COUNSELOR LICENSE AND 1+ YEARS SCHOOL COUNSELOR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. APPLICANTS WHO DO NOT MEET THESE QUALIFICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

A full-time or part-time School Counselor position is available in a K-12 setting in Florissant, CO. This is a non-school year (NSY) contract opportunity serving students from PreK through 12th grade.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive counseling services to K-12 students addressing academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
  • Manage a caseload including four students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) requiring designated counseling minutes.
  • Offer support and intervention as needed for other students beyond the scheduled caseload.
  • Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to develop strategies that support student growth and success.
  • Maintain confidential records and documentation of counseling sessions and student progress.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive school environment.

Qualifications:

  • Professional counseling certification or licensure appropriate for K-12 school counseling.
  • Experience working with students across all grade levels from PreK through 12.
  • Ability to work effectively with students on IEPs and support their individual needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse school staff and families.
  • Flexibility to work full-time (36 hours/week, Monday through Friday) or part-time (16-20 hours/week, typically 2 days each week).
