About Us & the Role:The LABBB Collaborative seeks a Masters Level Clinician to work with students with complex educational, social, and emotional needs. The LABBB Collaborative serves special education students ages 3-22 within public school buildings in the towns of Lexington, Arlington, Bedford, Belmont, and Burlington. Our students require special education services due to developmental delays, emotional disabilities, trauma, intellectual disabilities, pervasive developmental disabilities, and related disabilities. We believe that when given the right supports, all students can thrive in their educational environment.As a LABBB Collaborative Counseling Department member, clinicians work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of special educators, behavior analysts, administrators, school districts, and families. Our ideal candidate will enjoy working in a supportive team environment and have experience utilizing trauma-informed, evidence-based strategies to support students with a wide range of learning and mental health challenges. The specific caseload may service elementary, middle, and/or high school settings and will be determined upon hire depending on candidate experience and program needs. The current caseload resides at Belmont High School.
Job Requirements:Master’s Degree in social work, psychology, school counseling, mental health counseling, or related field with LCSW, LICSW or Mental Health Counselor licensure.Licensure as a School Adjustment Counselor/School Social Worker (PK-12) by Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, Required but can be eligible and attained upon employment.Minimum of 3 years experience working with children and adolescents.Valid driver’s license and willingness to drive between locations during the workday.Ability to provide clinical intervention to students on a flexible, as-needed basis, employing clinical methods that are most appropriate for meeting the learning and developmental profile goals for each student.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience with crisis management, including risk assessment.Ability to cultivate positive relationships with students, staff, and families.Ability to problem solve and multitask in a fast-paced environment.Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.Experience providing school-based counseling services.Experience with/knowledge of Social Thinking, Collaborative Problem Solving, Applied Behavioral Anaylsis, DBT, CBT, and/or executive functioning.Experience working with children and families in higher level of care settings, including inpatient, CBAT, residential, partial and/or therapeutic day school settings.
Responsibilities:Deliver differentiated counseling services through classroom instruction, group activities, individual or small group counseling, family consultation, and crisis intervention.Develop social-emotional goals for student IEPs and complete progress reports per the IEP process.Participate in a multidisciplinary team, using current and emerging educational and clinical practice to provide data-driven, evidence-based practices.Consult and collaborate with administrators, teachers, staff, families, and community-based providers in support of students social-emotional needs.Participate in supervision, professional development, and consultation with approximately eight other Masters Level Clinicians as a member of the LABBB Counseling Department, led by the Counseling Department Head.Complete required documentation, including incident reports and 45-day assessments.Provide referrals and coordination to community-based agencies such as DDS, DMH, and DCF.Provide crisis intervention services and risk assessment using evidence-based approaches as needed.Adhere to laws, policies, procedures, and ethical standards of the field and contribute to a positive and safe school culture.Implement programming in support of diversity, equity, and inclusion for all school community members.
