POSITION DESIGNATION This job classification has been designated as a safety sensitive job classification in accordance with the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act, 63 O.S., § 427.1 et seq., (OSCN 2019), effective August 29, 2019. JOB SUMMARY This position is hired through the Uniform Support Division of the Police Department within the City of Oklahoma City and is independently responsible for performing the duties and responsibilities of the job. Typical duties include: stopping the flow of traffic at designated street crossings by use of a hand-held stop sign in order to permit students to cross the street in safety; directing children at street crossing until it is determined to be safe; escorting children across the street during hours when they are going to or coming from school; and recording and reporting license numbers of vehicles whose drivers disobey the crossing guard's instructions or disregard other safety rules.
