Job Description About the role: We seek self-motivated applicants, who possess good communication skills and can work unsupervised, as well as part of a team. Undertake maintenance and repair work to the school buildings and grounds to ensure it is a safe environment for the school community. Click here to view the Position Profile. Key Responsibilities: Undertake repair/maintenance work as required to school buildings e.g. replacing locks, windows & light bulbs, patching holes, woodwork repairs Perform routine maintenance of equipment Estimate repair costs and document repairs undertaken Handle, store, and distribute goods/materials Move equipment/furniture as required Upkeep school grounds e.g. mowing, pruning, weeding, planting, disposing of litter Assist with school improvements e.g. fencing, paving, gardening projects Drive school vehicles as required for registration inspections, repairs and servicing. About the School: Aspect South East Sydney School provides placement for approximately 180 students on the autism spectrum from ages 4 to 18 years of age. The School’s main sites are at Peakhurst, Marrickville & Loftus, and there are 9 satellite classes within Sydney Catholic Schools and Department of Education Schools across the South East Sydney region of Sydney. Qualifications What we are looking for: Experience in general maintenance of grounds/buildings Knowledge of electrical, plumbing and general trade maintenance Understanding of machinery/equipment operation relating to building maintenance Ability to work unsupervised as well as part of a team Excellent communication skills Trade background is desirable Own tools required Current driver’s licence and use of own vehicle Current NSW Working with Children Check for paid employment You may be required to provide an International Police Check clearance. Additional Information What we offer: The rate for this role is $31.62 - $33.77 per hour + superannuation depending on qualifications.
