POSITION INFORMATION

The NSW Department of Education provides, funds and regulates education services for NSW students from early childhood to secondary school, delivering world-class education through its public schools and providing funding support to non-government schools. Hunter River High School is a proud comprehensive secondary school dedicated to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment where students are empowered to excel. Located on Worimi land near the Hunter River in Heatherbrae, just south of Raymond Terrace, our school enrolments traditionally sit between 780 and 810 students. Our student body reflects a diverse range of socio-economic backgrounds, with 23% of students identifying as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander. The school features 14 inclusive education classes within the RISE Faculty, designed to deliver personalised learning and enhanced support for students with diverse needs. Hunter River High School is undergoing significant infrastructure upgrades to enhance the learning environment. Major works include a new administration building, a new special education unit, and an new gymnasium available for community use.
