Description Overview The Nurse is responsible for providing safe and efficient support to students needing medical assistance and promoting a school environment of fitness and health. Requires strong computer and internet research skills. Also calls for flexibility, excellent interpersonal skills, project coordination experience, and the ability to work well with all levels of internal management and staff, as well as outside clients and vendors. The Nurse must be familiar with the Campus Guide, parent/student handbook, Code of Ethics and support the mission, philosophy and objectives of Franklin Academy. Employment Schedule: 10-months, full-time Duties and Responsibilities Essential functions of the position may include, but are not limited to, the following: Manages the Student Clinic Assesses health needs and develops a care plan for each student. Administers and supervises medication and health related procedures as prescribed by physicians. Provides emergency care and/or first aid in accordance with established policies. Follow federal and state laws, as well as company policy. Implements the goals and objectives of the School Health Plan Services Program Performs screening for vision, hearing, nutrition and high risk student identification. Maintains required health and immunization records required by School Board policy in Terms. Plans and implements in-service activities for appropriate personnel Functions as a liaison between the principal and specialist in health services. Acts as a member of the Child Study Team and participates in the IEP or eligibility/placement staffing of students when appropriate. Works with family members and other health professionals to assure continuity of health care between home and school. Ensure adherence to good safety procedures. Customer Service Provide guidance and direction to parents on school policies and events.
