Description Description Pope Saint John Paul II Preparatory School seeks a compassionate and organized School Nurse to support the physical health and well-being of our students and community. The School Nurse plays a vital role in maintaining a safe, healthy learning environment consistent with the mission and values of Catholic education. Qualifications Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Tennessee with experience in pediatrics and/or public health nursing preferred. School nurse experience preferred. Must maintain current instructor certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and first aid from a recognized provider (e.g., American Heart Association or American Red Cross). Must have the ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time; exhibit manual dexterity to enter data into a computer; to see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids; hear and understand speech at normal classroom levels, outdoors and on the telephone; speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in normal classrooms, outdoors and on the telephone; physical agility to lift up to 75 pounds; and to bend, stoop, climb stairs and reach overhead. Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism Supportive of the mission and values of Catholic education Willingness to travel on school trips when needed Requirements Requirements Provide daily health care services to students, including assessment and treatment of illness and injury Administer medications in accordance with physician orders and school policies Maintain accurate student health records and immunization compliance through online database Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student health concerns Collaborate with administration, counselors, and faculty to support student well-being Develop and implement health plans for students with medical needs Support emergency preparedness and response procedures Promote health education and wellness initiatives within the school community Maintain AED's on campus, coordinate CPR and first aid training for faculty and coaches, complete blood borne pathogen training for faculty Partner with athletics - especially the trainer for TSSAA compliance Track student visits to help with any trends Classification: Full-time, 12 months, Non-exempt. Summer work includes supporting Summer Camp studentsReports to: Dean of Students
