The School Operations Assistant is an entry-level position responsible for supporting the day-to-day operational functions of the school. This role is crucial in ensuring a safe, clean, and organized environment for students, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate is a highly organized, proactive, and reliable individual with a strong work ethic and a passion for supporting a positive school community.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. * Prior experience in a school setting or a similar operational role is a plus, but not required. * Strong organizational and time-management skills. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing ladders, and standing for extended periods. * Basic knowledge of cleaning and maintenance procedures.

Responsibilities

Facilities and Maintenance Support:
* Perform basic maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs, unclogging toilets, and minor repairs. * Conduct regular inspections of the school grounds and report any issues to the Facilities Manager. * Assist with setting up and breaking down for school events, assemblies, and meetings. * Manage and organize storage areas for supplies and equipment.
Custodial and Janitorial Support:
* Ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of classrooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas. * Empty trash cans and recycling bins throughout the school. * Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and notify the appropriate staff when new supplies are needed. * Respond promptly to spills and other messes.
Administrative and General Support:
* Assist with receiving and distributing mail, packages, and deliveries. * Provide support to the front office as needed, including answering phones, greeting visitors, and assisting with basic clerical tasks. * Help with inventory management for school supplies and equipment. * Run errands as needed. *
Safety and Security:
* Assist with monitoring school entrances and exits to ensure only authorized personnel and visitors are on campus. Assist with arrival and dismissal as well as monitoring lunch room. * Report any safety concerns or suspicious activity to the appropriate staff. * Support emergency drills and procedures
