Facilities Maintenance: Carry out routine repairs and preventative maintenance across the school buildings and grounds, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting tasks.
Site Security: Lock and unlock all entrances, monitor access control systems, conduct regular security checks, and respond to alarms or emergencies.
Health & Safety: Maintain health and safety standards by conducting risk assessments, ensuring fire alarms and extinguishers are tested, and reporting any hazards.
Cleaning & Grounds: Oversee and assist with cleaning tasks, litter picking, waste disposal, grass cutting, hedge trimming, and general upkeep of outdoor spaces.
Event Support: Set up and dismantle furniture, equipment, and staging for school events, assemblies, exams, and community hires; ensure venues are left clean and tidy.
Contractor Liaison: Coordinate and supervise external contractors (e.g., cleaners, landscapers, maintenance engineers), ensuring work is completed to specification.
Inventory Management: Monitor and order maintenance supplies, maintain stock levels of cleaning materials and spare parts, and ensure safe storage.
Reporting: Log maintenance requests via the school’s facilities management system, prioritize tasks, and report major issues to the Facilities Manager.
Emergency Response: Provide first response to on‑site emergencies (flooding, leaks, power outages), implementing immediate containment measures and arranging professional repairs where necessary.
