BACHELOR’S OR MASTER’S DEGREE IN SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGY, ACTIVE SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST LICENSE AND MINIMUM 1+ YEARS SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. APPLICANTS WHO DO NOT MEET THESE QUALIFICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

This full-time, full school year contract position offers the opportunity to provide specialized support as a school psychologist serving an early childhood education setting alongside an elementary environment. Working primarily with Pre-K students3 and 4-year-oldsin one early learning center and students in grades 3 to 5 in a nearby school, this role is designed for a professional passionate about developmental and academic growth within diverse age groups.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct developmental, cognitive, and social-emotional assessments for Pre-K and elementary students
  • Collaborate closely with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized intervention plans
  • Provide counseling and support services tailored to both early childhood and elementary students
  • Participate in eligibility meetings, assist with behavior plans, and ensure compliance with special education regulations
  • Drive between the two locations (approximately 15 minutes apart) to maintain consistent presence and communication
  • Maintain detailed records and documentation of services provided

Qualifications:

  • Masters or doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited program
  • Valid school psychologist certification or licensure for practice in the state of Connecticut
  • Experience with Pre-K populations and elementary grade levels, especially grades 3 to 5
  • Strong understanding of early childhood developmental psychology and assessment tools
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills with young children, parents, and school teams
  • Ability to manage time efficiently across two sites within a school day

Location: New Haven, CT
Work Hours: Approximately 8:45 AM to 3:15 PM
