A school psychologist opportunity is available for a contract position during the 2025-2026 school year at an early childhood school in Oakland, CA. This role requires dedication to supporting young learners through psychological assessment and interventions within a dynamic educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and evaluations for early childhood students.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with educators, families, and other staff.
  • Provide counseling and support services to students to promote social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to address student needs and enhance educational outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential documentation in compliance with district policies and state regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Valid California PPS School Psychologist license is required.
  • Experience working in early childhood or elementary school settings preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of developmental, cognitive, and behavioral assessment tools.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and communicate with families and school personnel.
  • Commitment to providing equitable and culturally responsive psychological services.

Position Details:

  • Location: Oakland, CA (Serving Newark Unified School District)
  • Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week
  • Contract Duration: Full school year (2025-2026)
  • Caseload focuses on early childhood-aged students.
  • District supervision arrangements and onboarding requirements, including fingerprinting, will be provided according to district procedures.
