JOB SUMMARY:

Seeking a qualified School Psychologist (Level 2) to support the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development of students. This in-person role involves collaboration with educators, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to create a safe, supportive learning environment and ensure students’ needs are met in alignment with educational goals and regulatory standards.

EDUCATION:

  • Master’s Degree or higher in School Psychology from an accredited institution.

PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience working in a public school setting.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state special education regulations (IDEA).
  • Familiarity with IEP systems and assessment tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Experience supporting students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Organizational and time management skills.

EXPERIENCE

  • A Master’s or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or a related field is required.
  • Experience working in a school setting is preferred, particularly with children who have disabilities.
  • Familiarity with applied behavior analysis techniques is a plus.
  • Knowledge of behavioral health practices and interventions is essential.
  • Strong communication skills are necessary for effective collaboration with students, parents, and staff.
  • Experience in developing safety plans and IEPs will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational assessments and interpret results to determine student eligibility for special education services.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs).
  • Provide crisis intervention, individual and group counseling, and behavior management support.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, administrators, and related service personnel to support student success.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and provide data-driven recommendations for student interventions.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of school-wide mental health and wellness programs.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with federal, state, and district policies.

DUTIES

  • Conduct psychological assessments to evaluate students’ cognitive, emotional, and social development.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to create safety plans and interventions tailored to individual student needs.
  • Provide early intervention services for students demonstrating signs of behavioral or emotional difficulties.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation related to student assessments and interventions.
  • Offer counseling services to students dealing with personal issues or crises.
  • Work closely with families to provide resources and support for children with disabilities.
  • Advocate for the mental health needs of students within the school community.
