Schedule: Full-Time | Monday through Friday (5 days/week)

OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a School Psychologist in New Jerseyto provide full-time support for an elementary school caseload from September 2025 through January 2026. This is a leave replacement or interim role ideal for professionals who are experienced in managing special education cases, performing evaluations, and working with student support teams at the elementary level.
Candidates must hold valid New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) certification as a School Psychologist and be proficient in using RealTime, the districts student information and case management software.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Required: Valid New Jersey School Psychologist certification issued by the NJ Department of Education.
  • Strong working knowledge of RealTime student information system (required).
  • Demonstrated experience in administering psychoeducational assessments and writing comprehensive reports.
  • Proven ability to manage caseloads effectively and participate in or lead IEP meetings.
  • Solid understanding of New Jersey special education laws and timelines.
  • Excellent communication skillsboth written and verbalwith the ability to explain complex information to families and educators.
  • Experience working with elementary-aged students and supporting a wide range of learning and behavioral needs.
  • Ability to work onsite daily and contribute to a collaborative school-based team.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the case manager for assigned students within the elementary special education program.
  • Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations for both initial and re-evaluation referrals in accordance with NJDOE special education regulations.
  • Administer and interpret a range of cognitive, behavioral, social-emotional, and academic assessments.
  • Write detailed, legally compliant psychoeducational reports with clarity and actionable recommendations.
  • Participate in IEP team meetings, eligibility determinations, and the development or review of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Maintain and update student records and documentation within RealTime, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, special education staff, related service providers, and families to support student progress and well-being.
  • Support pre-referral interventions and consult on behavioral or instructional strategies when needed.
  • Uphold professional and ethical standards in all communications, assessments, and interactions with staff and families.
