Pattison High School is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and dedicated School Psychologist to join our student support team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about promoting students’ mental health, emotional well-being, and academic success—especially through consistent collaboration with parents/guardians, teachers, and school administration.
The School Psychologist will play a key role in helping students overcome barriers to learning, including social-emotional concerns and chronic absenteeism. We are looking for someone who builds strong relationships with students, works well in multidisciplinary teams, and is committed to creating a positive and inclusive school environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in School Psychology or related field
  • Certification by the BC Association of School Psychologists (BCASP)
  • Strong understanding of child development, mental health, and learning differences
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working with diverse student populations preferred

Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and group counseling to support students’ mental health needs
  • Collaborate with staff and families to address behavioral, emotional, or social concerns
  • Support attendance initiatives by helping students with anxiety, motivation, or other personal challenges impacting school participation
  • Conduct psychological assessments as part of special education evaluations
  • Develop and implement behavior intervention plans (Individual Educational Plans IEP).
  • Consult with teachers and administrators to develop strategies that promote student success
  • Assist in crisis intervention and prevention programs
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records
