Duties and Responsibilities

  • Providing counseling services to students and their parents.
  • Participate in a multi-tiered system of support for students with social/emotional and behavioral needs, including participation in inter-disciplinary meetings to evaluate and discuss the diagnosis and treatment of students.
  • Participating in initial IEP and annual IEP development as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with and coach families and staff, during weekly team meetings and follow-up meetings, to support social and emotional development.
  • Adhere to federal/state/local procedures for record keeping, eligibility documentation, timelines and procedural safeguards.
  • Develop and maintain a schedule to ensure compliance with all required meetings and services.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Psychology.
  • Has obtained or is eligible for an endorsement as a School Psychologist as prescribed in the bylaws of the State Department of Education.
  • Experience or specialized training in the field of pediatric mental health is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain ethical and accountability standards.
  • Demonstrates interpersonal skills, and communicates effectively and courteously both verbally and in writing.
  • Has the ability to coordinate activities and work effectively with professional staff, support staff, parents, and representatives from agencies outside the school system.
