FULL JOB DESCRIPTION

Castles Education provides a specialist education for students aged 7 to 16 with social emotional and mental health needs. Following on from our recent school inspection we are excited to expand our team due to an increase in our student numbers from September 2025.

Responsibilities

TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED TO MEET THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:

  • Experience of working with children with SEMH or SEN needs.
  • Experience of managing challenging behaviour using varied strategies and a Trauma Informed Approach.
  • Demonstrate patience, understanding, be non-judgemental and have a good sense of humour.
  • Be able to identify existing and potential barriers’ to students’ learning and help then to overcome them.
  • Demonstrate a nurturing and supportive nature with good behaviour management skills.
  • To be able to deliver interventions (training will be provided)
  • A willingness to learn and develop existing skills.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide support to the teachers of Science, Mechanics and Outdoor Learning, by having a ‘hands-on’ approach and using your skills to assist with the delivery of engaging practical lessons.
  • Assist with learning activities ensuring the health and safety and good behaviour of students.
  • Basic maintenance of equipment, tools and working environments.
  • Timely and accurate preparation of routine equipment/resources/materials.
  • Undertake basic record keeping as directed.
  • Monitor and arrange orderly and secure storage of supplies.
