Create Education is excited to be recruiting a School Science Technician for a reputable secondary school in Croydon. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced technician with a passion for science and a strong background in supporting practical learning across Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. In this senior position, you will take on a more leadership-focused role, providing guidance to junior technicians, assisting in the development of the Science curriculum, and ensuring the smooth running of all laboratory activities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare and set up workshop apparatus/equipment and materials for practical lessons and controlled assessments across all science disciplines (Physics, Chemistry, Biology).
  • Oversee the maintenance, cleaning, and safety of laboratory equipment.
  • Supervise and assist students during practical lessons and experiments, ensuring safety procedures are followed at all times.
  • Lead and support a team of science technicians, ensuring the smooth operation of all practical activities.
  • Advise teaching staff on the most effective use of materials and resources for lessons.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of safety protocols and lab management systems.
  • Play a key role in maintaining a well-organized and resourceful laboratory environment.
  • Provide support in curriculum planning and development, ensuring lessons are practical, effective, and in line with school objectives.
