BACHELOR’S OR MASTER’S DEGREE IN SOCIAL WORK, ACTIVE SOCIAL WORKER LICENSE AND MINIMUM 1+ YEARS SCHOOL SOCIAL WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. APPLICANTS WHO DO NOT MEET THESE QUALIFICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

A contract position is available for a School Social Worker to support middle school students in Chicago, IL. This role offers an opportunity to work with 7th-grade students, providing essential social work services and managing individualized education programs (IEPs) and 504 plans. The assignment is currently available as a leave of absence coverage, extending until October.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver social work services tailored to the needs of middle school students.
  • Support and advocate for students with IEPs and 504 plans through effective case management and collaboration with educators.
  • Assist students in overcoming social, emotional, and behavioral challenges impacting their academic success.
  • Work closely with families, staff, and community resources to connect students to necessary support systems.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to develop and monitor student progress.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Social Worker endorsement.
  • Experience working with middle school-aged children, preferably in a school setting.
  • Knowledge of IEP and 504 plan management and associated compliance requirements.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Duration:

  • Leave of Absence coverage from now until October (Contract)
