MASTER’S DEGREE IN SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGY, ACTIVE SLP LICENSE AND 1+ YEAR OF SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGY EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. APPLICANTS WHO DO NOT MEET THESE QUALIFICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

A full-time opportunity is available for a Teacher of the Visually Impaired to support PK-12 students across a district-wide setting. This role focuses on developing and delivering specialized lessons, consulting with classrooms serving visually impaired students, and actively participating in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings to ensure tailored educational planning.

Key Qualifications:

  • Education Specialist Instruction Credential with a focus on Visual Impairments
  • Experience working with visually impaired students across PK-12 age groups
  • Strong skills in lesson development and classroom consultation for students with visual impairments
  • Ability to collaborate effectively during IEP meetings and contribute to individualized student goals

Responsibilities include:

  • Designing and implementing specialized instructional plans suited to the needs of visually impaired learners
  • Consulting with general and special education teachers to adapt curriculum and teaching strategies
  • Monitoring student progress and providing recommendations for support services
  • Participating in and contributing to IEP meetings to align educational objectives and accommodations for each student

Location and Schedule:

  • Based in Winston-Salem, NC, within a K-12 school district setting
  • Contract position spanning the full school year
  • Full-time schedule of 40 hours per week
