POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and personable School & Sports Portrait Photographer to capture high-quality images of students, athletes, and teams in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. This role requires technical proficiency with cameras and lighting, excellent people skills, and the ability to stay organized during high-volume photo sessions. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with children, teenagers, and adults, and represent our brand with professionalism and warmth at every shoot. While prior photography experience is preferred, we are willing to train the right candidate who is great with children, thrives in fast-paced situations, and is eager to learn camera setup and operation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong interpersonal skills — especially with children, teens, and parents.
  • Ability to manage time efficiently in a fast-paced, structured environment.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license (required).
  • Availability for early mornings, some evenings, and weekends during peak seasons.
  • Must pass background checks required for working in school environments.

BONUS SKILLS:

  • Experience with photo data entry and editing software (Lightroom, Capture One, etc.)
  • Bilingual (especially Spanish) a plus.
  • Knowledge of sports team composition and posing.

Responsibilities
  • Photograph students, athletes, teams, and school staff during scheduled portrait days and sports events.
  • Set up and break down photography equipment, including lighting, backdrops, and stands.
  • Pose subjects quickly and efficiently while maintaining a friendly, professional demeanor.
  • Ensure consistent image quality, proper exposure, and sharp focus in every shot.
  • Keep accurate records and match photo data with names and IDs.
  • Assist with organizing photo shoots, including location setup, scheduling, and coordination with school or league staff.
  • Safely handle and maintain photography gear and digital files.
  • Travel to multiple school and sports locations throughout the work week.
