Noggins Corner Farm II Ltd. is a diverse farming/ retail operation located in the Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia. We proudly offer agricultural and environment-based educational programming for schools and other groups. We require a skilled individual to become a member of our farm team. The position requires a person who facilitates the programming and outcomes of our tour programs.

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Previous experience in a teaching role of at least one year
  • Excellent English communication skills (verbal and written) required
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Forward-thinking and active problem-solving skills
  • A strong work ethic with the desire to excel and achieve
  • Willingness to learn and a motivated team player.
  • Punctuality and reliability
  • Team player and positive attitude

EDUCATION / WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Standard First Aid course
  • Worked as a Teacher, educational assistant or in a classroom setting

WORK CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES

  • Adaptable and comfortable with a diverse range of day-to-day activities
  • Comfortable working in all weather conditions

Responsibilities
  • Organize all logistics, including staffing for all school tours and group reservations
  • Teach school students and others about the history of the community and farm, farming techniques, and other agriculture-related activities
  • Grow the capacity and functionality and outreach of the education program
  • Communicate with the Agritourism manager and business office regarding all marketing, operation concerns and use of resources
  • Responsible for all Geocaching activities and maintenance
  • Responsible for all clean-up after scheduled groups and other duties as assigned
  • Provide a safe and inclusive environment for all students
  • Maintain a positive and welcoming attitude for all students
