Description

Join the Dovecote School Crew: SEND Driver & Passenger Assistant Extraordinaire!
Are you ready to hit the road with a purpose? Do you have a knack for making mornings brighter and afternoons smoother?
Dovecote School, a warm and welcoming independent SEND school, is looking for an exceptional Driver and Passenger Assistant to help our amazing students safely travel to and from school.
Why Join Us?
We’re not your average school; we specialise in supporting children with ASD, Autism, PDA, ASC, SELN, SEMH, and trauma backgrounds.
You’ll work with a passionate team that values creativity, inclusion, and a lot of coffee (and maybe the occasional biscuit)!
What’s the Job?

Think of it as part driver, part superhero. You’ll:

  • Safely transport our students with care, comfort, and a playlist that’s “fun but appropriate” (no judgment if you’re secretly into show tunes).
  • Assist students with mobility, seat belts, and all the little details that make their journey safe and enjoyable.
  • Be a friendly face and calming presence, making each trip as smooth as possible.
  • Keep communication flowing with parents, carers, and the school.

What You’ll Need:

  • A full manual UK driving license and the ability to handle a minibus like a pro.
  • A caring, warm personality with a calm and consistent approach.
  • Empathy, patience, and the ability to work as part of a team. (Extra kudos if you can rock a high-vis vest like it’s a fashion statement!)
  • Willingness to embrace training in safeguarding, first aid, and maybe even vehicle mopping.

Hours & Pay:

  • 25 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (perfect for school parents or semi-retired heroes).

Perks:

  • You’ll be part of a school that celebrates diversity, individuality, and success—no two days are the same.
  • You’ll work with a team that values well-being, sustainability, and creating an environment where everyone’s voice matters.

Jump aboard—your next adventure awaits!
Job Type: Part-time
