SCIENCE GRADUATE TEACHING ASSISTANT

Location: Banbury, Oxfordshire
Salary: £480 – £520 per week (term time only)

Step Into Teaching is working in partnership with a welcoming secondary school in Banbury, Oxfordshire, to appoint a Science Graduate Teaching Assistant for the new academic year starting this September.
This is an excellent opportunity for a recent science graduate who is considering a future career in teaching, educational psychology, or a related profession and is looking to gain valuable classroom experience before undertaking further training.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

• A degree in a science-related subject (2:2 or above preferred)
• A genuine interest in working in education and supporting young people
• Confident, adaptable and proactive, with strong communication skills
• A desire to make a positive impact on pupils’ learning and wellbeing

• Supporting the science department with lesson preparation and laboratory activities
• Providing one-to-one and small group academic support
• Assisting pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), working closely with the SEN team
• Delivering targeted intervention sessions to support pupil progress in science
• Contributing to pupils’ academic and personal development
• Collaborating with teaching staff, support staff, and external professionals
