Position Overview:
We are seeking a qualified and passionate Science Teacher for one our client Cycle 1 and 2 students (Grades 1-8) reputable school in Al Ain. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in teaching Science, with the ability to engage and inspire young learners while fostering curiosity and critical thinking. The teacher will be responsible for delivering high-quality Science lessons that are aligned with the American curriculum and ensuring students develop a solid understanding of scientific concepts across various topics.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education with a Specialisation in Science, OR ADEK Teaching Diploma + Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in the UAE, preferably in the American Curriculum
  • ADEK Approval (required)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lesson Planning and Delivery: Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons to students in Grades 1-8, ensuring content is suitable for their developmental stage and aligned with the American curriculum.
  • Curriculum Implementation: Implement the school’s Science curriculum, fostering a hands-on learning approach and creating interactive lessons that help students grasp key scientific concepts.
  • Assessments and Student Progress: Regularly assess students’ knowledge through assignments, tests, and projects, providing feedback and identifying areas of improvement.
  • Classroom Management: Establish and maintain a positive, well-organised classroom environment that encourages respect, discipline, and active learning.
  • Practical Science Work: Supervise and guide students in laboratory experiments, ensuring that students understand both the practical application and the theory behind the experiments.
  • Communication with Parents and Staff: Regularly communicate with parents and school staff regarding students’ academic performance, progress, and any areas of concern.
  • Differentiated Learning: Tailor lesson plans and activities to accommodate different learning styles and abilities to ensure all students can succeed.
  • Collaborative Work: Collaborate with fellow Science teachers, other subject teachers, and school leadership to ensure a well-rounded educational experience.
  • Extracurricular Activities: Support and participate in school-based extracurricular activities such as science clubs, fairs, or events related to science and technology.
  • Professional Development: Actively participate in school-wide professional development programs to stay current with the latest teaching methods and scientific advancements.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science Education or a related field (required).
  • ADEK Teaching Diploma (required for UAE teaching).
  • Minimum of 2 years’ teaching experience in Science, preferably within the UAE and in the American Curriculum.
  • Strong understanding of Science subjects (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Physics) and the ability to communicate complex concepts in an accessible way.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to engage students of varying abilities.
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other educators, students, and parents.
  • Creative and patient approach to teaching, with a passion for helping students develop a love for Science.
  • Knowledge of UAE’s educational requirements and curriculum standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with American Curriculum.
  • Experience teaching Cycle 1 & 2 students (Grades 1-8).
  • Proficiency in lab management and guiding students in practical scientific experiments.
  • Fluency in English (required), and knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
