Salary: Col3 (£26,251 to £28,080) Pro-rated £24,087 to £25,765

EXCITING OPPORTUNITY: SCIENCE TECHNICIAN AT A LEADING GRAMMAR SCHOOL

Colyton Grammar School is seeking a dedicated and proactive Science Technician to join our team and support the delivery of science lessons. In this role, you will provide technical support, prepare resources, and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring practical lessons run smoothly. You’ll work closely with teaching and support staff to manage resources and provide technical assistance for the science curriculum.

• Assist in the preparation, setup, and clearing of science practicals and demonstrations.
• Ensure the smooth running of extra-curricular science activities and experiments.
• Support the team by maintaining and cleaning scientific equipment, ensuring it’s ready for use.
• Perform routine health and safety checks to ensure compliance with school regulations.
• Conduct maintenance and inspection of science equipment to keep everything in top condition.
• Keep detailed and accurate records of inventory, equipment, and other necessary documentation.
• Assist with stocktaking in coordination with the Senior Technician to ensure the lab is well-supplied.
• Collaborate with other members of the science support team to create an efficient working environment.
• Participate in school-wide and department meetings as necessary to stay connected and informed.
