(FIXED TERM CONTRACT FOR THE AUTUMN TERM)

We are seeking a highly organised, enthusiastic, and adaptable Science Technician to join our dedicated team of technicians. This role will support all three sciences but a particular interest or specialism in Chemistry would be highly desirable. As a key member of our technical team, you will play a central role in supporting practical science education across the department.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and set up equipment and materials for practical lessons and demonstrations
  • Safely handle, store, and dispose of chemicals in line with Health & Safety regulations, including COSHH and CLEAPSS guidelines
  • Support lesson preparation including biological reagents, solutions, and glassware.
  • Assist in risk assessments and promote safe working practices
  • Maintain and repair laboratory equipment and manage audio-visual resources
  • Pilot and develop new experimental methodologies and promote innovative ideas at KS3
  • Provide in-class support during practical sessions and help with displays and open mornings
  • Purchase perishable items for experiments as needed
