ROLE OVERVIEW

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Science Technician to support the delivery of high-quality science education within our school. The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff to prepare, maintain, and organise equipment and resources for science lessons, ensuring a safe, efficient, and engaging learning environment for students.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare, set up, and test laboratory equipment, apparatus, and materials for practical science lessons (Biology, Chemistry, and Physics).
• Support teaching staff during practical sessions when required.
• Maintain and store chemicals, specimens, and equipment in line with health and safety regulations.
• Monitor stock levels and order supplies as needed.
• Ensure laboratories, prep rooms, and equipment are kept clean, tidy, and safe at all times.
• Carry out routine checks, calibration, and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
• Dispose of waste materials safely and in line with COSHH and school policies.
• Assist with risk assessments and ensure compliance with health and safety procedures.
• Provide support for school science events, clubs, and activities when required.
