St. Gregory’s Catholic High School seeks to appoint a Science Technician who shares our vision and ambition for the young people in our school.
In your role you will work alongside another Science Technician as part of a growing team to play a key part in maintaining quality teaching and learning and communication through ensuring that our Science provision is strong.
Your role really matters to the quality of Teaching and Learning in Science and helps open the door to wide engagement of the Science curriculum.
As part of a Science Technician team, you will be responsible for supporting staff with the preparation of all materials, stocks and equipment as required for practical work and demonstrations. This will primarily involve the setting out and clearing away materials and equipment directed by the Science department classroom teachers.
You will have input into the shaping of the role, and we are looking for someone who is proactive, innovative, and extremely organised. You will have a deep interest in all aspects of science and be a ‘people’ orientated team player.
Our school is at the heart of the thriving Catholic Parishes of West Warrington situated in an area of substantial growth next to all of the key motorway routes in the North West. We take pride in our relationship with the local community, partner primary schools and our partnerships within the archdiocese trust.
In January 2020, Ofsted’s inspection report, conducted under the new inspection framework, graded the school as ‘Good’ in every area and the school was graded as ‘Outstanding’ in our Section 48 Inspection of the Catholic Life provision of the school in February 2019. We encourage all applicants to read both reports and to review our school website too.
The opening paragraph from the Ofsted report reads: “There is a strong sense of community across the school which reflects the school vision. One pupil said “we are cared about as individuals, but because everyone cares, that makes us all one”
We are now relishing the challenge of continuing our successful journey towards providing an outstanding whole school provision.
To get to know our school community, we welcome you to visit the school to talk about the role and we also encourage you to review our school website: https://www.stgregoryshigh.com/
