SCIENCE TECHNICIAN

Location: Corby, Northamptonshire

About the Role:

• Prepare and maintain laboratory equipment and materials to support science lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
• Set up and clear away experiments, ensuring all health and safety protocols are rigorously followed
• Manage and organise science resources, maintaining stock levels and ordering supplies as necessary
• Assist teaching staff with the delivery of practical activities, including demonstrating correct use of equipment when required
• Support the upkeep of a safe and efficient laboratory environment, complying with all relevant safety legislation and school policies
• Help maintain accurate records of equipment and chemicals in line with regulatory standards
• Contribute to the smooth running of science department activities and special projects

We’re Looking For:

• Previous experience as a science technician or similar practical support role, ideally within an educational setting
• Good understanding of health and safety requirements in science labs, including COSHH and risk assessments
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
• A practical, hands-on approach and attention to detail
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with teaching staff and other support teams
• A science qualification or technical training is desirable but not essential
