This role fosters innovation, problem-solving, critical thinking, and collaboration while integrating real-world applications and emerging technologies to prepare students for college, careers, and life-long learning.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesNoneEssential FunctionsPlan, develop, and implement high-quality STEM lessons aligned with state standards, district curriculum, and best instructional practices.Incorporate project-based learning, inquiry-based instruction, and hands-on activities that promote student engagement and creativity.Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning styles, abilities, and interests.Assess student progress using a variety of formative and summative assessments, use data to inform instruction and improve student outcomes.Maintain an organized, safe, and inclusive classroom and laboratory environment.Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and community partners to enhance STEM learning opportunities.Facilitate participation in STEM-related extracurricular activities, competitions, and events as needed.Stay current with developments in STEM education, instructional technology, and related professional fields.Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff regarding student progress and expectations.Required Knowledge/Skills/AbilitiesStrong knowledge of STEM disciplines and the ability to integrate them in instruction.Proficiency in instructional technology, laboratory safety, and engineering design process.Ability to foster critical thinking, creativity, and collaborative problem solving.Strong classroom management and organizational skills.Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with students, staff, and parents.Commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive teaching.Education and ExperienceBachelors degree in STEM related field required (Masters degree preferred).Valid teaching certification with appropriate STEM or subject area endorsement.Minimum 3-5 years of teaching experience in STEM subjects preferred; experience with project based and inquiry based learning is a plus.Physical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, and actively engage with students for extended periods.Ability to lift and carry instructional materials and equipment up to 25 pounds.Work may involve exposure to chemicals and lab equipment where appropriate safety measures are required.Other Duties The activities, duties or responsibilities contained in this job description is not a comprehensive listing that are required of the employee.
