• Educated to A-level / HNC level (or equivalent) and / or have appropriate industry experience to be able to fulfil role requirements.

PURPOSE:

The Central Sample Administration (CSA) department is responsible for the administration of all RSSL samples coming into the Reading Science Centre (RSC).This includes responsibility for the receipt of samples, creating projects in the LIMS system, allocating projects to the correct departments, ensuring there are no discrepancies between submitted client paperwork, sample pot labelling and quotations, sub-sampling of supplied samples (if required), subcontracting analytical work and inputing of these results, returning samples to clients, electronic and physical disposal of samples (as required), maintaining chain of custody for controlled samples, liaising with internal and external customers and supporting the Mondelez Health Check process.
The role of Scientific Administrator is to ensure the day-to-day efficient administration of samples received into the CSA department at the RSC building. The role holder will be required to maintain a flexible approach to working practices to ensure the smooth running of the CSA department. They will also be expected to work in an organized manner within tight deadlines, to ensure that the project throughput is delivered within 24 hours and to a high-quality standard.
The position will be primarily based at the Reading location, although may require attendance of any of the RSSL sites.
