WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING IN THE ROLE OF A SCIENTIFIC COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER
The Scientific Communications Manager serves on a team of scientific experts who research and present on key topics, partners, and opportunities to develop communication products that may include high level talking points and reports which support external partnership meetings. This role provides scientific/subject matter expertise to the translation of research, technical and other complex content into meaningful lay-friendly communication. The Scientific Communications Manager will work cross-functionally across teams to build and support key educational programs and provide expertise on educational priorities around research.
The Scientific Communications Manager will develop and maintain a 360-degree, high level overview of the field of breast cancer. In addition, the Scientific Communications Manager will stay abreast of current Komen programs and priorities, communications campaigns, and organizational strategy to clearly identify and communicate organizational needs and partnership opportunities. The manager is member of the education team within Komen’s mission division. The education team supports Komen’s role as an authority in breast cancer by providing evidence-based information for those seeking breast health/cancer information and building key education strategies and engagement with the breast cancer community and the public.
KOMEN PROVIDES A REMOTE AND/OR HOME-BASED WORKING ENVIRONMENT FOR ALL ACTIVE EMPLOYEES. KOMEN DEFINES REMOTE AS THE ABILITY TO WORK FROM ANY PHYSICAL LOCATION WITHIN THE U.S. WHERE AN EMPLOYEE CAN PERFORM SPECIFIED WORK DUTIES WITHOUT DISRUPTION OR DISTRACTION.
