Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE

As a Scientific Data Analyst, you will be responsible for creating, reviewing and updating product data for LGC Standards. This includes validating chemical and regulatory information, ensuring data accuracy and compliance, and supporting data operations across systems. You will also contribute to data quality initiatives, project support, and continuous improvement of data processes and tools.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Product & Scientific Data Management

  • Add new products to the ERP/PIM systems in line with portfolio-specific SOPs.
  • Maintain and update analyte data (e.g., chemical name, CAS#, molecular formula) and pricing in ERP/PIM.
  • Maintain and update regulatory (compliance) and transportation data (e.g. SDS).
  • Validate analyte information using SciFinder and chemical structures using ChemDraw/Biovia.
  • Ensure chemical structure images are accurate and available for the webshop.
  • Extract and analyze data from ERP (IFS) and FileMaker Pro for reporting and validation.

Data Operations & Ticket Management

  • Manage incoming data requests and tickets, ensuring timely and accurate updates aligned with SOPs.
  • Maintain clear records of ticket progress and resolution.

Project Support

  • Support data-related project tasks, including extraction, transformation, and loading.
  • Collaborate with teams to understand requirements and deliver accurate outputs.

Data Quality & Governance

  • Adhere to data governance policies and perform quality checks to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Recognize and mitigate downstream impacts of data changes.

Communication & Collaboration

  • Provide regular updates on progress and blockers.
  • Contribute to team discussions and foster a collaborative environment.

  • Help develop and maintain SOPs and training materials.
  • Share system knowledge to support onboarding and upskilling.
  • Participate in system testing and provide feedback for improvements.

ROLE DIMENSIONS

  • Collaborate with New Product Development and Product Management teams to manage product data.
  • Work closely with local and global Compliance teams to maintain regulatory information.
  • Suggest and support improvements to the system stack in collaboration with IT.
