Description Spatial Front, Inc. (SFI), a two-time USAToday Top Workplaces awardee and Washington Top Workplaces honoree, is seeking a Scientific Project Manager to support a high-visibility federal program focused on the deployment and testing of automated systems for induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) culture. This role combines project management and hands-on scientific work, making it ideal for candidates with both technical lab experience and strong organizational skills. This position will play a key role in validating automated cell culture systems, analyzing system-generated data, and supporting collaborative research initiatives. Location: Hybrid: 3–5 days per week on-site in Laurel, MD Role Breakdown: 40% Project Management 40% Scientific Evaluation & Assessment 10% Team/Workgroup Collaboration 10% Meeting Coordination & Administrative Support Key Responsibilities: Project Management Manage projects through the full lifecycle (initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout) Collaborate with stakeholders to define project goals, scope, and deliverables Track progress, manage risks, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality outputs Develop and manage reports, presentations, and project artifacts Scientific Evaluation & Assessment Support deployment and validation of automated iPSC cell culture systems Perform hands-on cell culture (2D, 3D, and automated systems) Conduct cell characterization and analyze system performance data Identify trends, inconsistencies, and gaps in validation data Team Collaboration Coordinate with scientific and technical subject matter experts (SMEs) Participate in research teams, planning groups, and study sessions Contribute to the preparation of reports, publications, and technical documentation Administrative & Coordination Support Schedule and coordinate meetings and project activities Capture and distribute meeting minutes and action items Provide general administrative and project support to leadership and FDA staff Requirements Bachelor’s degree in a related field (required) 2–3 years of relevant experience Hands-on experience with biology and cell culture techniques Experience in scientific evaluation and data analysis Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work onsite 3–5 days per week in Laurel, MD Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree (MS/MA) in a related field Experience working in an Agile environment Exposure to automated laboratory systems or data analytics tools Additional Information Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and able to obtain a Public Trust clearance. Clearance: Background checks may include Criminal History, Education Verification, Employment Verification, Professional Certifications, and Credit History. (Public Trust investigations typically take 4–8 weeks and require fingerprinting.) Work Environment: Flexible/remote, with occasional on-site support as needed.
