Salary: Starting at $110,000 Department: Customer Experience – Scientific Channel Reports To: Sr. Manager of Technical Support Location: Hudson, WI | New Albany, MS | Remote (with travel)   Job Overview The Scientific Refrigeration Technical Specialist will play a critical role in advancing RSG’s scientific sales channel by providing deep technical expertise for refrigeration systems used in high-specification environments such as morgues, plasma centers, biomedical labs, and other facilities requiring precise temperature and humidity control. This role is customer-facing and will provide support both remotely and on-site (up to 50% travel) to ensure customer satisfaction, regulatory compliance, and system performance. The specialist will focus on advanced control systems (LogiTemp, Pico, and other scientific-grade refrigeration controllers) and natural refrigerants (A2L, CO₂, R290), alongside traditional HFC systems. This role bridges technical field expertise and customer experience, ensuring the future vision of RSG’s scientific channel is realized through proactive technical support, lifecycle engagement, and consultative customer success.   Key Responsibilities Technical Support & Troubleshooting * Serve as the primary technical expert for scientific refrigeration applications, supporting customers via phone, email, and site visits. * Diagnose and resolve complex refrigeration and control system issues, with a focus on precise humidity/temperature control systems. * Provide escalation support for CX Reps and Service/Warranty teams on scientific applications.   On-Site Customer Support * Conduct field visits (up to 50% travel) to support installations, service issues, and training for scientific customers. * Partner with Installation and Service teams to ensure seamless project handoff and system reliability. * Validate that installations meet stringent scientific standards and regulatory requirements.   Controls Expertise * Act as an in-house subject matter expert for Ke2, PCO, and other refrigeration control systems, assisting with configuration, optimization, and customer training. * Support future integration of advanced monitoring, IoT, and data-driven diagnostics into RSG scientific solutions.   Knowledge Transfer & Training * Deliver customer training on proper use and maintenance of RSG scientific refrigeration solutions. * Provide technical guidance and cross-training for CXRs, Service Partners, and Sales. * Contribute to technical documentation, playbooks, and knowledge libraries.   Continuous Improvement & Feedback Loop * Capture and document recurring issues, root causes, and improvement opportunities. * Partner with Engineering and Product teams to inform design enhancements and ensure field learnings drive innovation. * Participate in VOC (Voice of Customer) reviews and contribute insights to RSG’s continuous improvement culture.   Qualifications Education: * Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Refrigeration Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or related field – or equivalent professional experience. Experience: * 10+ years of advanced commercial refrigeration experience in technical support, field service, or engineering roles. * Proven ability to troubleshoot refrigeration control systems (Ke2, PCO, or comparable platforms). Experience with PLC is a must.
