Sygnature Discovery est une organisation de recherche contractuelle intégrée de premier plan dans le domaine de la découverte de médicaments. Basée au Royaume-Uni et au Canada, elle a son siège à Nottingham et dispose d’installations supplémentaires à Alderley Park, Macclesfield, Glasgow, Montréal et Québec. Son équipe de plus de 1 000 personnes, dont 900 scientifiques, travaille en partenariat avec des entreprises pharmaceutiques, biotechnologiques et NFP.
Depuis 2004, Sygnature Discovery a produit plus de 56 nouveaux composés précliniques et 35 composés cliniques, et ses scientifiques ont déposé plus de 225 patentes. COMPÉTENCES ET QUALIFICATIONS :

• PhD en chimie organique ou médicinale
• Solides connaissances des méthodes de synthèses actuelles;
• Expérience dans les techniques d’isolement et de purification telles que la chromatographie sur gel de silice et HPLC ainsi que les techniques analytiques modernes telles que RMN, LCMS;
• Connaissance de bonnes pratiques de laboratoires;
• Excellentes capacités d’organisation, de documentation et de communication écrite et orale (français et anglais);
• Proactif avec de solides compétences interpersonnelles; capable de s’épanouir dans un environnement d’équipe;
• Capacité démontrée à dépanner et à résoudre les problèmes de manière créative;
• Maîtrise de Microsoft Office (Word, Excel et PowerPoint);

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

• PhD in Organic Chemistry or Medicinal Chemistry;
• Strong knowledge and experience in current synthetic methods;
• Expertise in isolation and purification techniques such as silica gel chromatography and HPLC as well as modern analytical techniques such as NMR and LCMS;
• Knowledge of good laboratory and safety practices.
• Excellent written, organizational and documentation skills;
• Proactive with strong interpersonal skills; able to thrive in a team-based environment;
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and creatively problem solve;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint);

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Sygnature Discovery is currently looking for a candidate for the position of Scientist at its research center. The company provides a variety of preclinical services to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry helping them in their drug discovery and development.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Utilize cutting-edge synthetic methodologies and techniques to design and execute efficient syntheses of target compounds for existing chemical series and novel series;
• Independently conduct multi-step synthesis and optimization through effective reaction planning, troubleshooting, and systematic analysis;
• Purify and characterize compounds using a variety of techniques including column chromatography, crystallization, trituration, LCMS, NMR, HPLC;
• Work under the supervision of the Director of Chemistry or the Project Manager in order to achieve the objectives of the project in line with those of the client;
• Research current literature to formulate synthetic and medicinal chemistry strategies. Evaluate and implement new reactions, techniques and technologies to advance the projects;
• Maintain lab notebook, instrument and inventory records in accord with department guidance;
• Maintain all appropriate standards for lab safety and hazardous material management.
