Job Title Scientist Audio standardisation Job Description For our Audio standardization projects we are looking for an Audio Scientist with a strong background in Digital Signal Processing. (S)he will contribute to our standardization efforts with novel perceptually optimized audio algorithms that must be implemented within the framework of the relevant (external) standardization bodies. Your role: Driving the creation of extensions to the AAC audio codec. This involves the creation, implementation and testing of Audio processing algorithms. Creating standard essential patents within the framework of international standardization bodies, such as MPEG and 3GPP. Closely collaborating with a team of audio experts Test driven design to ensure that your implementations deliver the desired audio experience. You're the right fit if: MSc or Ph.D. degree in Physics or Engineering (Software, Computer, Electrical, Electronics/Communications, etc.) A solid background in acoustics, including audio capture and reproduction, acoustic modeling, and psychoacoustics (speech perception and spatial audio). Strong expertise in audio DSP and audio coding algorithms, with hands-on experience in developing, implementing, and testing signal processing solutions. Proven experience working with audio codecs such as MP3, AAC, aacPlus, EVS, and immersive audio technologies including MPEG-H and Dolby Atmos. Knowledge or experience in related domains such as AR/VR audio, audio rendering, acoustic simulation, and speech enhancement/cleanup. Proficiency in Python and C/C++ for algorithm development, testing, and optimization. Experience working in test-driven development environments to ensure high-quality, reliable implementations. Nice to have: Exposure to or experience with international standardization bodies such as MPEG or 3GPP. Experience contributing to or developing standard-essential technologies or patents.
