Job Summary: Join our team as an Environmental Scientist where you’ll make a meaningful impact on environmental protection and sustainability. In this dynamic role, you’ll independently manage diverse projects conducting environmental site assessments, collecting and analyzing samples, and preparing comprehensive reports. You’ll also collaborate with Senior Technical Staff on environmental compliance assessments and permitting, contributing to important environmental protection initiatives.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 3 years experience in environmental consulting with focus on environmental assessment, due diligence, sampling, data collection and evaluation, and technical writing
  • Working knowledge of methodologies for due diligence, soil/groundwater investigations, remediation, and environmental compliance/permitting
  • Experience developing and implementing health and safety plans
  • Experience managing multiple subcontractors
  • Excellent problem solving skills and general science-based knowledge
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Exceptional time management skills with ability to manage multiple concurrent projects

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in environmental science, geology, engineering, chemistry, biology, or related discipline

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Stormwater permitting experience (NPDES, SWPPP, SPDES) & Spill Prevention Controls (SPCC)
  • Willingness to travel using company vehicle to local project sites, with occasional out-of-town travel
  • OSHA HAZWOPER 40-hour training and current 8-hour refresher
  • ArcGIS skills and experience

Responsibilities
  • Lead environmental assessments including Phase I and Phase II ESAs, Underground Storage Tank (UST) investigations, PADEP Act II site investigations and remediation, and Oil & Gas investigations and remediation
  • Collect and analyze soil, water, air, groundwater and soil vapor samples using specialized field equipment to ensure environmental compliance
  • Interpret environmental monitoring data to identify trends, potential concerns, and regulatory exceedances
  • Oversee and document field activities including soil borings, monitoring well installations, remediation projects, and sample collection
  • Create detailed work plans and technical reports with clear procedures, results, conclusions and actionable recommendations
  • Collaborate directly with project managers on task management and project execution
