DESCRIPTION

This job is a lab-based position , and the candidate must be able to be on-site in Ridgefield, CT, USA. Candidate will be hired at level commensurate with experience and education.
We are seeking a highly skilled Scientist II/III to join our Immunology and Respiratory Disease Department in Ridgefield, CT. The ideal candidate should have a proven ability to work in a matrix environment and will be part of the Translational Biology group. The role involves developing in vitro immunological assays and cellular systems with a focus on Rheumatology, Dermatology, and Pulmonology. The aim is to bolster research projects in our portfolio and deliver innovative drug concepts for clinical development.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
  • Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required).
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
Responsibilities
  • Design and execute primary cell, cell assays using diverse model systems and advanced technologies to support translational research.
  • Independently apply cellular scientific principles for development of novel in vitro immune/ fibrotic assays and read-outs using disease relevant primary human cells.
  • Proposes new experiments/technologies based on science as well as overall understanding of drug discovery/development process with the goal of advancing research projects within the immunology and respiratory disease portfolio.
  • Effectively communicates and defends own work in the context of team and department goals both orally and in writing.
  • Demonstrates a high level of technical proficiency in field; trains and develops junior level scientists in the department.
  • Works in a collaborative manner with other members in the department.
  • Reports and treats data with a high level of integrity and ethics.
  • Participate in cross departmental project teams when assigned.
  • Comply with applicable regulations, perform all work in a safe manner; Maintain proper records in accordance with SOPs and policies.
  • Keep up with advances in disease biology and willing to develop skills in a broad set of emerging technologies.
