Job Description:

  • The Protein Sciences group collaborates with drug discovery project teams across client therapeutic areas including Oncology, Immunology, and Neurology. Our group enables project teams with antigen protein reagents. We are seeking a cell culture / molecular biology scientist to actively contribute to our workflows including in molecular cloning of plasmid constructs and with small to medium-scale protein expression in mammalian cells (HEK, CHO) and E. coli.
  • Candidate should have cell culture experience with mammalian cells (HEK, CHO). Candidate should be self-motivated and must be able to work independently and contribute to a team environment. Candidate should possess excellent communication skills and be proficient in presenting in front of groups. Must be able to manage several tasks concurrently and be capable of adjusting to rapidly changing experimental priorities.

Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively in a matrix with project teams and members of the Protein Sciences Group to drive innovation and deliver Client therapies to our patients.
  • Impact projects through the production of recombinant antigen proteins.
  • Impact projects by DNA-enabling our team, via cloning of plasmid constructs that will be used to express the requested antigen proteins.
  • Demonstrate scientific excellence, work ethic, and dedication to team and project goals.

Requirements:

  • BS or master’s degree in biochemistry, Biology or other related Life Science with 3+ years of relevant laboratory experience.
  • Work history performing transient protein expression HEK293 or CHO cells. Experience in e. coli is also preferred.
  • Experience performing Western analysis, SDS-PAGE, molecular cloning, DNA preps.
  • Additional experience of interpreting protein analytical techniques such as SEC, MS, DLS, etc. are desirable.
  • Experience working with/implementation of automated laboratory workflows and instrumentation.

Top skills:

  • B.S. or higher in molecular biology, biochemistry, or related field.
  • Experience working in lab setting.
  • Cell culture.
  • Molecular biology (plasmid cloning, etc.).
  • Protein production (e. coli or mammalian).
