EDUCATION

  • B.S. in the Biological Sciences required with M.S. degree in Molecular Biology preferred.

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 2 years of laboratory experience in an industrial environment required.
  • Hands -on experience with polymerase chain reaction (PCR)
  • Hands-on experience with DNA isolation and quantification
  • Experience with Real-time Quantitative PCR with SYBR Green or Taqman probes
  • Experience with primer or probe designs

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

  • Possess a clear understanding of and have related experience in basic molecular biology techniques
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues within and outside core team
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time efficiently
  • Ability to be adaptable and flexible to changes in working environment
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities
  • Perform laboratory bench work with focus on daily testing of reagents for development, improvement, and troubleshooting of HLA gene typing products
  • Assist in maintaining and updating all required SOP’s and quality records of equipment maintenance, tests, analyses and other relevant data
  • Work with cross-functional teams to deliver high quality results
  • Be responsible and accountable for a safe work environment including proper training in laboratory safety procedures, maintenance and stocking of proper safety equipment and supplies
  • Assist with managing and maintaining required reagents (reference samples, assay buffers, and labeling reagents, etc.), laboratory environment and equipment needed to carry out projects
  • Perform and prioritize daily assignments approved by Supervisor or Research Manager to ensure timely completion of tasks and projects
  • Compile, analyze data, and compose reports as required
